What began as a local celebration has become one of Western Sydney's defining cultural gatherings—still rooted in the people, streets and traditions of Cabramatta.
The 2025 anniversary placed around 600 lanterns above Freedom Plaza—a canopy celebrating Cabramatta's Vietnamese community and its contribution to the city.

Each spring the Cabramatta Moon Festival closes the streets for lanterns, lion dances and one of the largest cultural celebrations in the country.

Plan your festival day
Arrive easy.Stay all day.
Cabramatta Station opens directly onto the celebration. Plan for road closures, use public transport where possible and leave time to wander beyond the event streets.
Train
T2, T3 and T5 services connect Cabramatta with the wider Sydney network.
Free shuttle
The official event shuttle is scheduled to operate from 9am until 9pm.
Park and connect
Use nominated shuttle parking or park near Warwick Farm and continue by train.
Ride in
Bicycle racks are available close to the event footprint in the town centre.
